Emma Harris was originally established as a womenswear brand in 2008, and relaunched as Emma Harris Lingerie in 2013, focusing solely on the intimate apparel.
The entire production, from design concept through to finished garment, is entirely carried out in-house.
The atelier’s highly skilled team produces lingerie & loungewear using artisan sewing techniques: ‘lingerie to cherish’.
Claire Emma Harris
Claire Emma Harris studied fashion technology at Nottingham University. Prior to founding the eponymous brand, she worked as a design director to high street multiples where volumes were huge, and garments varied greatly.
What she learned in this previous employment, co-directing a team of over 50 within a multimillion pound company, provided the knowledge applied daily to run the studio.
Claire is a naturally skilled technical designer, a perfectionist who pushes boundaries with pattern cutting and sewing expertise.
She has the rare ability to perform all tasks within a design and manufacturing environment to an extremely high standard.
Dedicated to reintroducing artisan sewing techniques to the luxury lingerie market, she trains and teaches those skills to her team herself.

The Atelier
The Atelier
The atelier is in Derbyshire, England, the historical heart of the UK’s textile industry. Located within a 19th century lace mill over two floors, it houses a design & development department, whilst higher volume manufacture takes place in the main production room.
The building has strong associations with Cluny lace, the last remaining Leavers lace mill in England. In fact, a view from the atelier’s window allows a fascinating peak at their working Leavers machines.
The Team
The small but highly functioning team is remarkably skilled in all areas, from design to manufacture. Each machinist cares about the designs they produce.
Consistent high-quality is ensured by in-house training and production monitoring, as tireless hours are spent perfecting each design in an area where lace & lingerie manufacture once flourished.
Signature Soft Gold Slip
The Designs
Emma Harris Lingerie’s designs convey timeless elegance with a vintage feel, as many lines are inspired by the Art-Deco and Art-Nouveau movements.
Each piece is labour intensive, with hand sewing and complex seams structures regularly featured. French seams, pin hems and delicate topstitching echo throughout the collections, along with many other sewing techniques developed over the years. Luxury fabrics are sourced with consideration to washing and wear.
The extensive size range is carefully fit tested to ensure not only a good fit, but one that is uniformed throughout the collections.
The brand does not carry any stock: web purchases are handmade to order within just a few working days. As everything is produced in-house, the atelier’s flexibility allows for bespoke orders to be catered for: alternative sizes, colourways or fabrics can be requested.
The Signature Range
Along with seasonal and limited-edition collections, the brand offers the Signature continuity range. Soft lacy coordinates are complemented by silk sleepwear pieces. Elegant and feminine, flattering and durable… Every lingerie drawer should include a Signature set!
